Book Club

Student Book CLUB INFORMATION

Club Purpose: The purpose of the VHS Book Club is to raise interest and engage students in literature and literacy, and contribute to the reading culture at Valley High School. Book Club members collaborate with each other about literature, participate in activities to bring technology together with literacy, promote reading on campus, and engage in school/community service.  Book Club activities will be sustained through fund-raising.

F2F Club Meetings: The VHS Book Club meets in the library every Tuesday during lunch.

Academic Lettering:  VHS Book Club members can earn an Academic Letter at the end of a school year if they meet the following criteria each semester:

1.  Earn a GPA of 2.5 or better.

2.  Attend VHS Book Clubs meetings (90% attendance or better).

3.  Create one 5-minute book talk about a favorite book.

4.  Create one 2-minute iMovie book trailer about a favorite book.

5.  Complete 6 hours of school/community service.

6.  Participate in fund-raising activities.
